Turning the World Upside Down
But when they did not find them, they dragged Jason and some brethren to the rulers of the city, crying out, "These who have turned the world upside down have come here too. Acts 17:6
This story has always stirred my faith! I find it amazing how the envious religious leaders of those days, who hated the very thought of what the apostles and the Church where preaching, teaching and standing for could not find a way to deny the reality.... these people where world changers!!!! Not just world changers, but the type of people who somehow had found a way to turn their world upside down!
I believe God has been on the look out for hearts who are willing and available to turn the world they live in upside down. What is it that God is looking for???? What would cause Him to take notice of one of us? I believe the answer is simple and profound; He is looking for someone who will say to Him, "turn my world (my personal life) upside down.... Rearrange what is necessary, align what is out of alignment, correct what is incorrect with you and mark me for eternity."
It is my personal opinion that the ultimate key to turning the world upside down is not money, fame or power...... It is yieldedness to the will of God, simple yet profound. This is the key that unlocks the money, fame and power needed to impact the world for Christ. I think we have spent much too much time trying to call forth, accumulate and position ourselves with the right people in order to do something of great worth. When the master has said, set you love on me, call upon me and I will show you the unattainable, store up for yourself (or accumulate) wealth in heaven, and most importantly spend time with me! He is the one who lifts us up for His purpose and glory.... He wants to turn the world upside down more then we do. It is only through His power that we can do anything of great worth according to John 15...

I hear the sound of rain....
And Elijah saith to Ahab, ‘Go up, eat and drink, because of the sound of the noise of the shower.’ 1 Ki 18:41 (YLT)
Today during prayer and worship, as I was sitting at the piano singing "We Prepare the Way" a prophetic song came upon me. I began to play and could hear a roar rising within my spirit, then I began to sing I hear the thunder, the lion roaring.
Because I am inclined to write songs, I began to try to put it together for something greater, but I understood it was something for the moment. God was allowing me to hear the present approach of an outpouring. Rain is coming!!!!
Immediately, the scripture in the beginning of this blog came up in my spirit, so I looked it up and read form the beginning how God SPOKE to Elijah of the end of the rain and Elijah SPOKE the word of the Lord to Ahab. The rain STOPPED just as Elijah had SAID it would.
Then the Lord SPOKE to Elijah again of the return of the rain, and Elijah did something different. He didn't just speak, he moved into action to rid the land of the spiritual contamination. Once the prophets of Baal where dead Elijah SPOKE of the rain to Ahab.
I think we can take Elijah's example to heart. We should imitate his faith and action's. First, he heard God speak to him concerning the rain. Second, he got rid of the SOURCE of the rain stopping in the first place (the prophets of Baal were the voice of confusion and deception for Israel). Third, he DECLARED what he HEARD in the spirit. Fourth, he prayed until he received confirmation of the word of the Lord.
I will probably preach on this one day but for now, I believe what is important is that we are looking for the rain of Glory and Revival from heaven to come upon the earth, specifically ourlives. We must be willing to rid ourselves of ANYTHING that can potentially hinder the move of God in us. I heard the Lord call us into this fasting and prayer, and I know He is going to reveal Himself like never before. I have heard the sound of rain.... do you see the cloud????
